BANDY
Bandy is an
unbeknown sport in the world.Bandy is played with two teams.Teams consist of
eleven players.Bandy consists of two half and each half consists of forty-five
minutes.Bandy is played with a small ball and sticks and players try to score
to goal.Bandy is similar to ice hockey, field hockey and football. Bandy
players should have the ability to use the ball well, besides being a good
skater.
GAMEPLAY AND
RULES
Game is a fast and high-scoring game. Each
team has three substitutes for keep up with the tempo of the game. The teams
have four substitutes in international matches. If a team throws to the ball
out of the wall edges, the ball passes to the opposing team and the game starts
with throw-in. If the ball goes out from the defender, the opposing team gains
a corner kick. During the corner kick, offensive players must be outside the
penalty area on the other hand defensive players must be on the goal line.
Bandy players cannot hit the ball by head or cannot control the ball with their
hands or arms. Also they cannot control the, by lifting it up from the level of
the head of the stick. Physical contact is allowed but kick, trip, pushing,
pulling and hitting is forbidden. The penalty is a penalty or a free kick.
FIELD
In old times, bandy was played in the icy
regions but today it is played in the ice hall area. There are wooden walls
around the field and these walls provide keeping the ball on the field. The
field is cleaned with a special machine, which called Zamboni, and the field is
flattened with this tool.
